I
grew up in Falmouth, Massachusetts with grandparents on Nantucket
Island and Lordspoint, Connecticut. All of these places are
"land-end" communities, removed and quiet while attached to
the sea. They have all shaped my life and influenced my creative
efforts to varying degrees. Most of my prints are iconographic
studies of marine life, inspired by years of attending Science School
in Woods Hole and the fact that my mother worked at the National
Marines Fisheries, giving me after hours access to drawing the
contents of the aquarium tanks. My prints are created in editions of
50 or less and are all drawn, carved and printed by hand. The past
few years I have been painting in addition to making wood cuts,
trying to create small landscapes based on my experiences in and
around Woods Hole.
